Special Issue Introduction
This Special Issue highlights innovative strategies that integrate drug repurposing with non-coding RNA (ncRNA) targeting to enhance cancer therapies, presenting a cost-effective and time-efficient approach to discovering new therapeutic uses for existing drugs. Non-coding RNAs, including microRNAs and long non-coding RNAs, have emerged as key regulators of gene expression and are implicated in cancer development and progression. By targeting ncRNAs, researchers can modulate cancer-related pathways, enhancing the therapeutic effects of repurposed drugs.
We invite original research articles, reviews, and clinical studies that explore:
● The role of non-coding RNAs in cancer progression and therapy resistance;
● Innovative drug repurposing strategies that incorporate non-coding RNA (ncRNA) targeting, which involves identifying new therapeutic uses for existing drugs, thereby offering a cost-effective and time-efficient approach to enhancing cancer treatment;
● Preclinical and clinical evaluations of ncRNA-targeting therapies combined with repurposed drugs;
● Insights into the molecular mechanisms driving the success of these combined approaches.
This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive overview of how the intersection of drug repurposing and ncRNA research can transform cancer treatment, offering new hope for overcoming therapy resistance and improving patient outcomes.
