Special Issue Introduction
This Special Issue focuses on the latest advancements in genetic therapies aimed at treating various forms of dwarfism, particularly those caused by genetic mutations. Dwarfism, a condition characterized by short stature, is often linked to specific gene abnormalities that affect bone growth and development. Recent breakthroughs in genetic engineering, such as gene editing (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9), gene replacement, and other molecular therapies, hold promise for addressing the underlying causes of dwarfism at the genetic level.
In this issue, we invite original research articles, reviews, and clinical studies that explore:
● The identification of genetic mutations associated with different forms of dwarfism;
● Innovations in gene therapy techniques targeting these mutations;
● Preclinical and clinical trials investigating the efficacy of novel genetic treatments;
● The ethical and social implications of using genetic therapies for conditions like dwarfism.
By bringing together cutting-edge research in genetics, molecular biology, and therapeutic innovations, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive view of the potential for genetic therapies to transform the treatment landscape for individuals with dwarfism.
