Special Issue Introduction

Service robots play a crucial role in various aspects of human life, from healthcare to industrial applications. They vary in design, including crawling robots such as Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) and flying robots such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). These robots have the potential to save lives and assist humans in tasks that involve heavy lifting and repetitive work, thereby enhancing job precision. Service robotics has expanded from educational applications to rehabilitation designs, covering a wide range of topics such as control systems (both traditional and modern) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based approaches. This enables researchers to share their innovative designs and contribute to advancing service robot technology. Ongoing research in this field has introduced new robots with specialized capabilities, some of which share common features and continue to evolve daily.

This Special Issue aims to highlight cutting-edge research and provide a platform for sharing knowledge and insights into service robotics. We invite original research papers, review articles, and case studies focusing on various aspects of this domain, including but not limited to:
