Topic: Risk Management for Complex Engineering Systems in Digital Era

With the rapid advancement of digital technology, interconnectivity among engineering systems is increasing. The massive amounts of data generated by complex engineering systems, in both volume and variety, may overwhelm traditional risk management processes, leading to challenges of data overload and making it difficult to produce actionable risk management insights. Additionally, integrating digital technologies with the core business of an organization exposes engineering systems to more sophisticated cyber threats that jeopardize system security, data integrity and organizational business continuity. In a fast-paced digital environment, risks to complex engineering systems can emerge and escalate rapidly. To cope with these new challenges and adapt to technological advances, it is necessary to investigate new approaches to risk management in the digital era to effectively prevent and mitigate emerging threats.
