Great News: A New Journal Intelligence & Robotics Led by Professor Simon X. Yang Officially Released Online

Journal of Intelligence & Robotics was officially released online on June 7, 2021, aiming to publish top-quality unpublished original technical and non-technical application-focused articles on intelligence and robotics, particularly on the interdisciplinary areas of intelligence and robotics.

The journal seeks to publish articles that deal with the theory, design, and applications of intelligence and robotics, ranging from software to hardware. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, biological, bio-inspired, and artificial intelligence; neural networks, fuzzy systems, and evolutionary algorithms; sensing, multi-sensor fusion, localization, data analysis, modeling, planning, and control for various mobile, aerial, and underwater robotic systems; and robot cooperation, teleoperation, and human-machine interactions.

We are honored to have successfully invited Professor Simon X. Yang from the University of Guelph, Canada, to be the Editor-in-Chief for the new journal Intelligence & Robotics.

Professor Yang is currently the Head of the Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Systems Laboratory at the University of Guelph, Guelph, ON, Canada. He has been very active in professional activities and served as an Associate Editor and Advisory Board member of several journals, Chair of several conferences, and Panel member of several Grant Review Panels, such as the General Chair of the 2011 IEEE International Conference on Logistics and Automation, the Program Chair of the 2015 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation, the Award Committee Chair of 2019 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics, the Grant Review Panel of NSERC, CIHR, etc.

At the same time, we also honored to have successfully invited five distinguished scientists in this field to serve as the Advisory Editorial members of the journal. They are Tianyou Chai (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences), Clarence De Silva (Fellow of Royal Society of Canada, Distinguished Visiting Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering, Senior Canada Research Chair in Mechatronics and Industrial Automation), Toshio Fukuda (member of the Japanese Academy of Engineering, Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), Aike Guo (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), Deyi Li (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences).
