The quality of published articles has also reached new heights, reflecting the dedication of our contributors and the rigorous standards of our peer review process.

Below, we summarize the key achievements of PAR in 2024 across six major areas:

1. Database

We are pleased to announce that PAR has been officially accepted for inclusion in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI, Web of Science) as of April 30, 2024. This milestone heralds PAR’s forthcoming inaugural impact factor in June 2025. Articles published from Volume 9 (2022) onward will be indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the relentless efforts of our team. Through rigorous peer-review processes, we have consistently worked to deliver high-quality academic content, ensuring the academic value and integrity of each article. The inclusion in ESCI is a recognition of these efforts and serves as an impetus to uphold and surpass our current standards.

2. CiteScore

In June 2024, Elsevier officially released the 2023 citation metrics, and we are delighted to report a significant increase in the CiteScore of PAR, rising from 1.4 to 2.0 [Figure 1]. This advancement places PAR in the top 48% of journals in the “Surgery (Medicine)” category and moves the journal’s CiteScore ranking into Q2. This progress underscores our ongoing commitment to publishing high-quality research and reflects its growing recognition among international researchers in the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery.
