5 June: MIS received the 2024 CiteScore, which is 1.2 in the category of surgery. This marks a steady increase from the 2023 CiteScore of 1.1 and reflects the growing academic recognition of the journal's contributions to the field.
18 June: MIS received the first impact factor of 0.7, ranked 249 out of 312 journals in the "Surgery" category, placing it in Q4.
April
14 April: Prof. Lianxin Liu, from The First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, was appointed as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of MIS.

15 June: the first Editorial Board Meeting of MIS successfully held, which was co-hosted by the Editor-in-Chief Giulio Belli and Honorary Editor-in-Chief Prof. Michel Gagner. Thirty-Three Editorial Board members participated in the meeting.

26 March: Prof. Michel Gagner, the world-renowned pioneer of laparoscopic surgery, joined MIS as Honorary Editor-in-Chief after the Editorial Office's interview.

19 March: Prof. Giulio Belli, from General and HepatoPancreatoBiliary Surgery, Loreto Nuovo Hospital, Naples, Italy, was appointed as the new EiC of MIS. Prof. Charles F. Bellows stepped back after two years' service as the founding EiC. We highly appreciate his great contributions to the journal development in the past two years.
