Special Issue Introduction
Flexible thermoelectric devices (F-TEDs) have exhibited great application possibilities for both portable power generation and localized refrigeration because of their capabilities of solid-state conversion between heat and electricity, zero-emission, and high flexibility. With the rapid development of flexible thermoelectric science and technology, this Special Issue aims to collect the latest progress on flexible thermoelectric materials and devices, including the inorganics/organic materials, structure-related principles and factors that determine the performance of F-TEDs, their advanced strategies, theoretical simulations, designs and devices for the inorganic-based devices, organic-based devices, and hybrid-based devices targeting both power generation and refrigeration. This Special Issue covers a broad range of fundamental concepts, as well as experimental and theoretical studies related to flexibility and thermoelectricity and applications with new ideas for devices structures and new approaches for high-performance devices.
