Topic: The Impact of Bisphenol Exposure on Human Health

Bisphenol A (BPA), a typical endocrine-disrupting compound, is widely present and poses potential risks, leading to its regulation or restriction in many countries. Subsequently, various alternatives have emerged, including Bisphenol AF (BPAF), Bisphenol AP (BPAP), Bisphenol B (BPB), and so on. These chemicals can be released into the environment during production and use, entering the human body through water, food, atmosphere, and other pathways. However,  they have been proven to have adverse effects on organisms, including estrogenic effects and disruption of the endocrine system. Therefore, research into the occurrence of such chemicals in the environment, along with the resultant human exposure and health risks, is of great interest. 

This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the field of Bisphenols, covering their occurrence, exposure, risk, and toxicity. All papers MUST address, to some extent, the assessment of Bisphenol exposure. Relevant study topics include, but are not limited to:

1. New analytical methods for the measurement of Bisphenols;

2. Occurrence of Bisphenols in the environment;

3. Human exposure and associated health risks;

4. Toxicity effects of Bisphenols and associated mechanisms. 

All submissions MUST consider the implications for human and/or wildlife exposure to these contaminants. For further guidance, please refer to the Aims and Scope of JEEA.
