Special Issue Introduction
In this Special Issue, we delve into the intricate molecular pathological mechanisms of Central Nervous System (CNS) diseases, and innovative therapeutic strategies tailored to these mechanisms. CNS diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and other neurodegenerative diseases, pose a significant threat to the quality of life of patients, and current treatment methods often fail to offer sufficient efficacy.
This Special Issue will focus on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of these diseases, including genetic mutations, protein misfolding, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, and neurotransmitter imbalances. We will also examine a series of novel therapeutic strategies aimed at these mechanisms, such as pharmacological therapies, gene therapies, cell therapies, and neuroprotective strategies.
We hope this Special Issue provides readers with a comprehensive platform to understand the molecular mechanisms and novel therapeutic strategies for CNS diseases. We also look forward to these new treatment strategies eventually translating into practical clinical applications, offering hope for improving the quality of life and life expectancy of patients with CNS diseases.
