Water Emerging Contaminants & Nanoplastics Initiates Global Recruitment for Junior Editorial Board Members

Water Emerging Contaminants & Nanoplastics (WEC&N) is an open-access international journal dedicated to publishing peer-reviewed, original research on pollutants of emerging concern in both natural and anthropogenic water cycles, and their effects on ecosystems and human health. The inaugural issue was published in March 2022, and the journal was indexed by Scopus in February 2024.

To further expand the journal’s global reach, enhance its scholarly impact, and foster the development of new editorial talent, we are pleased to invite young researchers to join our Junior Editorial Board. This is an exciting opportunity for early-career scholars to engage with the journal, share their enthusiasm and creativity, and contribute to its continued growth. We look forward to the involvement of exceptional young researchers who will help propel the dynamic evolution of WEC&N.

1. Recruitment Criteria

  • A solid academic background and exceptional research capabilities, with at least 5 publications as the first author or corresponding author in reputable international journals in the past three years.
  • Age under 40, holding a Ph.D. degree or possessing a Professorship title.
  • Strong interest in and profound understanding of emerging contaminants.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive engagement in journal-related activities, with a commitment to contributing to the journal’s continuous improvement through constructive suggestions and strategies.
  • Previous experience as an Editorial Board member or reviewer for international journals is preferred

2. Junior Editorial Board Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the promotion and visibility of the journal at relevant academic conferences, workshops, and on academic and social media platforms.
  • Conduct thorough manuscript reviews to ensure they meet the journal's high standards of quality.
  • Support the journal’s academic development by inviting high-quality papers and identifying emerging research trends and hot topics in the field.
  • Participate in the annual Junior Editorial Board meeting and other academic events organized by the journal.

3. Junior Editorial Board Benefits

  • An official Junior Editorial Board appointment letter, valid for two years.
  • Priority for publication of articles (as first or corresponding author) after successful peer review.
  • Opportunities to attend international academic conferences or forums sponsored by the journal, with invitations to speak or moderate.
  • Eligibility for annual selection as an outstanding Junior Editorial Board member, with the possibility of promotion to the senior Editorial Board.
  • Support for organizing domestic and international academic conferences or forums.
