Four Members from Editorial Board of Water Emerging Contaminants & Nanoplastics Designated as “Highly Cited Researchers 2023” by Clarivate Analytics
On November 16, 2023, Clarivate Analytics released the list of “Highly Cited Researchers 2023”. We extend our congratulations to four members from Editorial Board of WEC&N for their consistent nominations as "Globally Highly Cited Researchers" by Clarivate Analytics! This remarkable achievement underscores their significant contributions to the scientific field.
Prof. Despo Fatta-Kassinos
Highly Cited Researcher 2023-- Environment and Ecology
Prof. Despo Fatta-Kassinos is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cyprus. Her recognition spans from 2018 – 2023, acknowledging multiple highly cited papers ranking in the top 1% by citations for field and year (as assessed by Web of Science, Clarivate Analytics). Prof. Fatta-Kassinos has held key roles in various scientific associations and projects: She was the founding leader of the WG5 'Wastewater reuse' of NORMAN Association (2013-2019) and a founding member of the International Ph.D. School on Advanced Oxidation Processes and member of its Scientific and Management Committee. She was the Chair of the Scientific and Technological Advisory Board of the European JPI 'Water Challenges for a Changing World' for the years 2015-2019, the Chair of the COST Action NEREUS ES1403 (2014-2018), and the Coordinator of the H2020-MSCA-ITN-2015/675530/ANSWER project (2015-2019). She is the Chair of the Advisory Board of the African Center of Excellence in Water and Environment Research, located in Nigeria. She has received many accolades, such as the Noack Laboratorien Outstanding Science Career Award from The Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) in 2022.

He is the Managing Director of the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination, Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE), an independent organization that performs research, develops technologies, and provides policy guidance for assessing and addressing soil, water, and air contamination.
