Prof. Shenglin Huang obtained his Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine from Fujian Medical University in 2003, followed by Master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Doctor's degree in Oncology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2006 and 2009, respectively. Following his PhD in 2009, he joined the State Key Laboratory of Oncogenes and Related Genes of Shanghai Cancer Institute. From 2011 to 2013, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University in the United States. Since September 2013, he has led research as a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Fudan University. Combining expertise in tumor molecular biology, RNA biology, and bioinformatics, Prof. Huang’s team focuses on identifying and studying new targets for tumor diagnosis and treatment, and has established relevant RNA sequencing techniques, bioinformatics methods, and databases (exLR-seq, ASJA, EV-origin, exoRBase, RJunBase). Their work has shed light on exosomal/extracellular vesicle RNA components and their applications in cancer (Cell Res, 2015; Nucleic Acids Res, 2018&2022; Clin Chem, 2019; Gut, 2020). Notably, they have identified abundant tumor-specific transcripts (TSTs) in cancer (Nat Commun, 2016; Cell Rep, 2018; Hepatology, 2019; Cancer Res, 2020; Nucleic Acids Res, 2021).

Prof. Huang has published more than 80 SCI papers, with an H-index of 46 and more than 10,000 citations. Additionally, he has applied for three invention patents and received funding from prestigious sources, including National Key Research and Development projects, the National Natural Science Foundation, Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation projects, as well as the National “Ten Thousand Talent Program for Young Top-notch Talents”, Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program, and Shanghai Rising-Star Program.

Once again, the Editorial Office of Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids congratulates Prof. Huang on this well-deserved promotion. We eagerly anticipate his continued support for the journal.
