Welcome Professor Wei-Dong Le as the Editor-in-Chief for the New Journal Ageing and Neurodegenerative Diseases
OAE is honored to have successfully invited Professor Wei-Dong Le from Sichuan Academy of Medical Science-Sichuan Provincial Hospital to serve as the Editor-in-Chief for the new journal Ageing and Neurodegenerative Diseases (AND).
Prof. Le is currently the deputy director of the Academic Committee and the director of the Institute of Neurology, Sichuan Academy of Medical Science-Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital. He is also a life-time Professor of Neurology and the director of Center for Translational Research on Neurological Diseases, the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University. He has been engaged in clinical practice, teaching and research of neurology for almost 40 years, including 24 years of work in Baylor College of Medicine as a Professor of Neurology and Director of the Parkinson's Disease Research Center; and 10 years of working as a Professor of Neuroscience and Head of Neurogenomic Lab in the Institute of Health Science of Chinese Academy of Science jointed with Shanghai Jiao-Tong University School of Medicine.
Prof. Le is a neurologist/neuroscientist with research interest in the cellular and molecular basis of neuronal injury in neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and ALS. Prof. Le's research program focuses on identifying novel genetic and environmental factors involving the molecular mechanisms and pathological pathways of the three major neurodegenerative diseases. Up today, he has published over 317 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals (Scopus information: H-index of 70, ca.18,000 citations) and 10 scientific books, and has been selected as one of the "Highly Cited Chinese Scholars" in Neuroscience released by the international evaluation agency Elsevier for 6 consecutive years. Besides, having organized many international conferences as the chairman of the organizing committee and delivered reports, he has received numerous recognitions and honors for his research.
AND is an international peer-reviewed, open access, online journal launched by OAE Publishing Inc. This journal will report the innovative research works on neurodegenerative diseases from the perspectives of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of ageing, the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases, the associations between biological process of ageing and neurodegenerative diseases, translational research into prevention and treatment of aging-related neurodegenerative diseases, and mechanistic bases for epidemiological aspects of aging-related neurodegenerative diseases, etc.
The Editorial Office of AND highly appreciate Prof. Le's support and will work jointly with him to create a high-level journal with international influence. We believe that with the joint efforts of Prof. Le and all members of the Editorial Board and the Editorial Office, this goal will be achieved in the near future.
Let's congratulate Prof. Le on his appointment.
