Bio
Dr. Giulia Longhi is a Post-Doc Research Fellow in Microbiology at the Probiogenomics Laboratory of the Department of Chemistry, Life Sciences, and Environmental Sustainability, University of Parma. After her master's degree in Biology and Biomedical Applications, she obtained her industrial PhD in Biotechnology and Biosciences in May 2023 at the University of Parma. She participates as a speaker at International Conferences in the field of Microbiology. Her primary research interests focus on the investigation of the biology of key gut microorganisms, their interaction with the human intestinal microbiota, and their functional impact on host health. In her work, she aims to develop and refine methodologies for studying the composition and functionality of microbial communities in intestinal and food ecosystems by adopting both culture-dependent and independent approaches. She is the author or co-author of 43 scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
