Bio
Yangchun Cao, PhD, professor at the College of Animal Science and Technology, Northwest A&F University, and doctoral supervisor. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Shandong University and his PhD from China Agricultural University. From December 2018 to December 2021, he conducted research as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School in the United States. Currently, his main research focuses on the mechanisms of gut microbiota regulation of efficient nutrient utilization and host immunity. In the past five years, he has published over 30 SCI papers as first/ corresponding author, in internationally renowned journals such as Gastroenterology, with the highest impact factor of 33.883. He has obtained 11 authorized national patents as the first inventor, published two group standards and two local standards as the first author, and won the first prize for scientific and technological progress in Shaanxi Province and the second prize for scientific and technological progress in Gansu Province. He was appointed as a member of the Expert Group of the Nutrition Center at Harvard Medical School, selected as a member of the third "Outstanding Young Talents" of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, the 2022 Zhongying Young Scholar, and the first batch of "Outstanding Youth Talent Support Program" in Shaanxi Province. He was awarded the Young Scholars Award of the Animal Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. He also serves as a member of the Deputy Secretary-General and Council Member of the Animal Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, the Deputy Director of the Animal Microecology and Biologic Feed Branch of Shaanxi Province, the Chief Scientist of the R&D and Application Team for Livestock and Poultry Feed Additives in Shaanxi Qinchuangyuan. He has presided over more than 20 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China General Program, and participated in the compilation of seven books entitled "Amino Acids in Nutrition and Health". His research achievements have been reported by professional media both domestically and internationally, such as Science Report, BioArt, and Healio Gastroenterology.
