Figure 6. MUC1-C dictates JUN and BAF-mediated chromatin remodeling at a proximal enhancer-like signature (pELS) in the NOTCH1 gene. MUC1-C interacts directly with JUN to form a complex that occupies a pELS in the NOTCH1 gene. In turn, MUC1-C-JUN complexes recruit BAF, as evidenced by MUC1-C-dependent occupancy of both JUN and ARID1A.
