Bio
Marco Race is an assistant professor of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (UNICLAM). He teaches “Waste Water Treatment Plant” at UNICLAM for M.Sc. students graduating in Environmental Engineering as well as Civil Engineering. He graduated with as M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II (UNINA) in May 2012 and received a Ph.D. in Environmental Systems Analysis at UNINA in 2016 with the recognition of the European Label. Within the framework of different European projects, he has gained research experience abroad in various centers. His main research topics are: (i) integrated treatment of contaminating solid matrices from inorganic compounds and evaluation of the efficiency of chemical/physical/biological processes; (ii) study of the mechanisms of removal of emerging contaminants in conventional purification processes; (iii) application of advanced oxidation processes in the treatment of contaminants which cannot be treated by biological processes; (iv) recovery and/or recycling of waste materials. Thanks to the results from the research activities, he published around 50 papers in top scientific journals (Q1) as well as many other works in conference proceedings and book chapters.
