Bio
Dr. Hongzhe Chen is an associate research fellow of the Key Laboratory of Global Change and Marine-Atmospheric Chemistry (GCMAC), Third Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China. He received his doctorate from Nanjing University. He researches marine pollution, especially emerging pollutants in the ocean and marine litter. At present, he is committed to the research on the distribution, environmental behavior, and analytical methods of microplastics, the analysis of the pollution sources of marine plastics, as well as the policies to reduce plastic waste entering the sea. As a Chinese representative, he participated in the APEC Oceans and Fisheries Working Group (OFWG), the high-level meeting on marine litter, and so on.
