Bio
Dr. Pastorino is an Adjunct Professor of Freshwater Ecology and Ichthyology at the Regional Agency for the Development and Innovation of Agriculture in Lazio Region, Rome (Italy) and a Researcher at the Aquatic Biology Laboratory of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Piemonte, Liguria and Valle d’Aosta (IZS PLV), Turin (Italy). He focuses his research mainly on the ecological and sanitary impacts of alien fish species in fishless high-mountain lakes and of medium-long range transport of pollutants (organic and inorganic contaminants) in these remote ecosystems. He is involved in several research projects related to aquatic ecology, ecotoxicology, fish biology, fish diseases, and environmental contaminants (trace elements and emerging contaminants). Professional Memberships: - Member of the Executive Board of the Italian Society of Fish Pathology (S.I.P.I.) - Associate member of the Italian Association of Freshwater Ichthyologists (A.I.I.A.D.) Honors: 2020 - “Pietro Ghittino award” for the best young Italian researcher in the field of fish diseases and ecotoxicology. This award was issued by the Italian Society of Fish Pathology (S.I.P.I), on 25 September 2020 2019 - “Pietro Ghittino award” for the best young Italian researcher in the field of fish diseases and ecotoxicology. This award was issued by the Italian Society of Fish Pathology (S.I.P.I), Gaeta (LT), on 11 October 2019. 2018 - “Young researcher prize” received by the National Order of Biologists for the best oral communication at the national congress of the Italian Association of Freshwater Ichthyologists (A.I.I.A.D.). Rome, 10 November 2018. 2012 - Winner of the “Competition for the awarding of study prizes in favor of deserving students enrolled in the study courses of the University of Bologna”; A.Y. 2011/2012 (average marks: 30/30 - 15 honors).
