Topic: Applications of First Principles Calculations in Heterogeneous Catalysis
Hu Peijun graduated from East China University of Science and Technology with a BSc in March 1982 and from the University of Cambridge with a PhD in June 1993. 2004. He was appointed Professor at Queen's University Belfast in 2004 and elected as an Irish Fellow in 2009.
He has made significant contributions to the implementation and development of quantum mechanical calculations for multiphase catalytic reactions, especially the development of microscopic fundamental theory for multiphase catalytic reactions, and is one of the most influential academic leaders in the international field of theoretical catalysis. He has published over 300 research articles in major international journals, including 2 Nature, 1 Nature Chemistry, 1 Nature Catalysis, 1 Nature Energy, 6 Nature Communications, 21 J. Am. Chem. Soc. and 11 Angew.

Topic: Revealing the Dynamic Structural Evolution of Nanocatalysts in CO/CO2 Hydrogenation Reactions
Yuefeng Liu is an associate professor at Dalian National Laboratory for Clean Energy, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (China). His main research areas are carbon in catalysis, CO/CO2 hydrogenation, environmental TEM, and the dynamic evolution of nanocatalysts. Recent interests include preparing and characterizing hybrid carbon nanomaterials and carbide-based catalysts for clean energy and sustainable chemistry applications. He was on the Youth Editorial Board of Chemical Synthesis and Journal of Energy Chemistry, and one of the Guest Editors in the Special Issue of the Current Opinion in Green and Sustainable Chemistry. He is the author of more than 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. The current h-index is 39, with more than 4300 citations (Google Scholar, Nov. 2022).

Prof. Lin He obtained her doctor degree from Fudan University, China in 2012. Then, she joined Matthias Beller’s group at Leibniz-Institut für Katalyse (LIKAT) as a postdoctoral fellow. She has received DAAD-Leibniz Institute Scholarship, Germany in 2013. Since autumn 2016, she went back to China and started her independent research in Suzhou Research Institute, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with the support from "1000 talented young scientist" program. She has published more than 50 SCI papers in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.、ACS Catal.、Green Chem. Chem Sci. with more than 3000 citations and also is a coordinator and a principal leader of more than 10 research and collaborative projects. She got Thieme Chemistry Journals Award, Stuttgart in 2022.
