Cover Picture: In an exploration of quantum-safe communication solutions, this article presents a successful field trial of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) in a commercial data center, leveraging existing fiber infrastructure. The trial achieved an average secret key rate of 2.392 kbps and a quantum bit error rate under 2%, underscoring QKD's commercial viability. The study also showcases a use case where a Quantum-Secured Virtual Private Network enabled secure file transfers between two data centers using QKD-generated secret keys, marking progress toward broader QKD adoption in commercial settings.
