Special Issue Introduction

Keywords or key topics of the SI:

1. The contamination status of PFAS in groundwater, rivers, lakes, and other water bodies, as well as its impact on the surrounding ecosystem;
2. The main sources of PFAS emissions, including the manufacturing process, industrial wastewater, and waste disposal;
3. The fate, transport, and transformation of PFAS in the natural environment, such as solubility, adsorption properties, and migration patterns;
4. How organisms are exposed to PFAS, including through air, water, soil, and other pathways;
5. Analyzing the toxicological effects of PFAS on humans and flora/fauna, including potential health risks;
6. The accumulation of PFAS in the food chain, particularly its impact on organisms in higher trophic levels;
7. Assessing the application value of PFAS substitutes and the mechanisms for mitigating their environmental impact;
8. Advances in the analysis of PFAS in drinking water, surface and wastewater, and soil.
