Special Issue Introduction
This Special Issue focuses on conceptual pragmatism in wound healing to bring changes in our understanding of the wound-healing process in common clinical practice, both diagnostically and therapeutically. The topics selected for this Special Issue are about the basic understanding of wound healing and a new simple economic effective therapeutic method of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy within reach of poorest patients suffering from a variety of wounds. This Special Issue includes the assessment on the composition of a general wound, in terms of all identifiable categories of tissue and pigmentation in an attempt to improve accuracy in assessing and monitoring wound health. Multi drug resistant (MDR) bacteria are a major problem in management of large wounds. An insight in a new method of treating MDR infection by least harmful NPWT method has also been included. Also, a less commonly discussed topic like "the effect of pH on the surface of chronic wound healing" has been included.
Keywords
