In April, PAR was successfully indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). This milestone heralds PAR’s forthcoming inaugural impact factor in June 2025, marking a significant achievement.
In June, Elsevier officially released the 2023 citation metrics! PAR's CiteScore has risen from 1.4 to 2.0. This places PAR in the top 48% of journals in the “Surgery (Medicine)” category, propelling its CiteScore ranking into Q2.
In September, Stanford University and Elsevier released the seventh edition of the "World's Top 2% Scientists 2024" list. PAR is proud to announce that 33 of its Editorial Board Members and Youth Editorial Board Members have successfully been included. This month, Prof. Charles E. Butler, Tenured Professor of Plastic Surgery, the Charles B. Barker Endowed Chair in Surgery, and the former Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, chaired the webinar "New Trends in Body Contouring”.

In January, Prof. Isao Koshima, President of the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, Honorary President of the International Society of Lymphology, Executive Director of the Japanese Society of Lymphology, Founding Member of the "International Course of Perforator Flaps," member of the Japanese Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery and Japanese Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Contributing Professor at Hiroshima University Hospital (Medical), chaired the webinar “Aesthetic Microsurgical Reconstruction (Hand and Face)”
In June, we are thrilled to announce that PAR received its first CiteScore of 1.4, placing it 285th in Q3 among 495 journals in the "Medicine: Surgery" category.
In August, PAR conducted interviews with two distinguished experts. Prof. Mark K. Wax, Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University, serves as the Director of Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery. He has previously held prestigious positions including President of the American Society of Head and Neck Surgeons, President of the American Association of Otolaryngologists, and Chair of the American Microvascular Committee. Prof. Yong Ju Jang, the former President of both the Pan-Asian Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PAAFPRS) and the Korean Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (KAFPRS), is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology at Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan, Seoul, Korea.
2022
In April, Prof. Raymund E. Horch, tenured Professor of Plastic and Hand Surgery, chairman of the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery and Director of the Laboratory for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, hosted an international Cutting Edge Virtual Symposium "Latest Advances and State of the Art in Breast Reconstruction".
In May, Dr. Gordon K. Lee, from the Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, USA, and Dr. Bernard T. Lee, from Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, led a meaningful Special Issue "Complications in Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction: Management and Prevention".
In June, PAR was accepted for inclusion in Scopus, the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.
2021
In January, PAR displayed the videos for abstract of articles on the website.
In April, PAR held the first webinar on Neck Lift: A Panel Discussion by International Experts, with Prof. Foad Nahai from the Center for Plastic Surgery at MetroDerm in USA and Dr. Andrew L. Weinstein from Division of Plastic Surgery, Emory University School of Medicine in USA as speakers, and then the second webinar "An International Panel Discussion on Hair Growth Evaluation and Regeneration".
2020
The Editorial Office completed the reconstruction of the Editorial Board by adding 26 new Editors and replacing 7 Editors.
Prof. Isao Koshima, Prof. Stan Monstrey, Dr. Andreas Arkudas, Dr. James E Zins, Dr. Mark K. Wax, etc.,joined the Editorial Board of PAR.

The PAR Editorial Team attended the 23rd International Conference on Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery 2017 in Hong Kong, the 14th Chinese Academic Conference on Medical Cosmetology of the Chinese Medical Association in 2017, and the 14th Congress of the Chinese Society of Aesthetic and Plastic Doctors in Beijing.
