Special Issue Introduction
This Special Issue focuses on critical reviews in the field of human exposure to emerging contaminants. By synthesizing and summarizing recent research advancementsin this field, this special issue will provide a comprehensive overview of the sources, exposure pathways, and health implications of exposure to important groups of emerging contaminants. The findings of this Special Issue will not only help the academic community identify knowledge gaps in exposure pathways and health risk assessments but also enhance our understanding of the broader implications of these contaminants for human health. We invite review articles that specifically address significant contaminants, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, plastic additives, personal care products, and microplastics, among others. The objective is to deliver valuable insights and data references for researchers, environmental health professionals, epidemiologists, and public health policymakers. Through this issue, we aim to inspire new directions in scientific research and provide a solid scientific foundation for relevant policy-making.
All submissions MUST consider the implications for human and/or wildlife exposure to contaminants. Please see the Aims and Scope of JEEA for further guidance.
