Special Issue Introduction
The built environment, particularly indoor spaces, plays a significant role in our daily lives. As people spend up to 90% of their time indoors, it is crucial to understand how the indoor environment affects human health and well-being. This Special Issue, "Indoor Environment and Human Exposure," aims to bring together a collection of high-quality research articles, reviews, and short communications that address all aspects of human exposure to various organic and inorganic pollutants from indoor environments. The issue will address the latest advancements in research and identify knowledge gaps to inform future directions.
Main Focus:
The main focus of this Special Issue is to investigate the multifaceted relationships between indoor environmental factors and human exposure, as well as their impacts on human health and well-being. This encompasses a wide range of topics, including but not limited to indoor air quality, distribution of indoor pollutants, and assessment of pollutant exposure.
Possible topics:
1. Indoor exposure modelling;
2. Indoor air quality and its impact on human health;
3. New pollutants in indoor environments;
4. Concentration, distribution, sources, transport, and fate of indoor pollutants;
5. Pollutants from building materials and indoor environmental quality;
6. Indoor inorganic and organic pollutants and their impact on health;
7. Human exposure assessment and biomonitoring in indoor environments;
8. Other studies related to indoor environments.
All submissions MUST consider the implications for human and/or wildlife exposure to contaminants. Please see the Aims and Scope of JEEA for further guidance.
