Special Issue Introduction
The tumor microenvironment (TME) is a dynamic ecosystem in which immune cells play crucial roles in tumor progression, immune evasion, and therapy resistance. This Special Issue, Role of Immune Cells in the Tumor Microenvironment II, focuses on the complex interactions between immune cells and the TME, exploring their impact on cancer development and therapeutic outcomes. We aim to provide insights into immune modulation strategies, including immune checkpoint inhibition, CAR-T cell therapy, and novel approaches to overcoming immune suppression in cancer treatment.
We invite research articles and reviews that explore topics including, but not limited to:
● Tumor-associated macrophages, dendritic cells, and myeloid-derived suppressor cells in immune evasion;
● Mechanisms of immune suppression and resistance to therapy;
● Immune checkpoint inhibition and combination immunotherapies;
● Tumor-immune interactions in metastasis;
● Novel biomarkers and immune reprogramming strategies.
