Special Issue Introduction
This Special Issue aims to bring together original research, reviews, clinical studies, and perspectives that highlight the power and necessity of multidisciplinary approaches in improving outcomes for patients with gastric cancer. Gastric cancer presents a formidable challenge to both clinicians and researchers due to its heterogeneous nature and often late-stage presentation. The optimal management of this disease increasingly relies on multidisciplinary collaboration across medical, surgical, and supportive specialties.
We invite high-quality contributions on, but not limited to, the following topics:
1. Clinical trialsand case studies within multidisciplinary settings;
2. Innovations in endoscopic diagnostics and treatment;
3. Accurate imaging diagnosis and evaluation of gastric cancer;
4. Liquid biopsy and Extracellular Vesicles for diagnosis and monitoring;
5. Surgical approaches tometastatic gastric cancer: patient selection criteria and treatment outcomes;
6. Patient-reported outcomes, quality of life assessments,and shared decision making;
7. Management of sarcopenia and cachexia in gastric cancer patients;
8. Artificial intelligence and digital tools in gastric cancer diagnosis and management;
9. New therapeutic frontiers: vaccine-based therapiesand immune cell-based treatments;
10. Gastric malignancies in the elderly or early-onset gastriccancer: unique challenges.
