Topic: Advancements in Precision Medicine for Overcoming Cancer Drug Resistance
Guest Editors
Special Issue Introduction
Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, or combination treatments often face the challenge of drug resistance, either in the tumor itself or within the surrounding tumor microenvironment, which can significantly diminish treatment efficacy and even impact patient survival. By leveraging advanced technologies and methods such as omics analysis, we can further explore the mechanisms, targets, and pathways responsible for resistance in various treatment regimens. These insights could lead to innovative approaches for precise drug delivery, optimizing treatment effectiveness. Additionally, micro-nano material technologies offer potential solutions for overcoming resistance by modifying drug delivery methods and overcoming resistance bottlenecks in the tumor microenvironment, ensuring that drugs effectively and safely reach the diseased tissues, thereby improving their bioavailability. By enabling precise drug targeting or enhancing drug concentration in tumor tissues, we aim to achieve breakthroughs in overcoming drug resistance, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
The topics covered in this Special Issue include, but are not limited to:
● Novel tumor resistance mechanisms, targets, and pathways
● Strategies for precise drug delivery or treatment based on resistance mechanisms
● Micro-nano material approaches to overcoming drug resistance in chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, etc.
● Emerging technologies and methods for investigating tumor resistance progression, including advanced imaging techniques
etc.
