On November 16, 2021, Clarivate Analytics announced the list of “Highly Cited Researchers 2021”. Three Editorial Board Members of Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment (JCMT) are on the list. Hereon, all Editors of the JCMT are extending warm congratulations to these scholars on being selected to the list of “Highly Cited Researchers 2021” by Clarivate Analytics.

The introductions of the three members are as follows:

Jesus San-Miguel
Clinica Universitaria de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain

Professor Jesus San-Miguel is an Associate Editor of JCMT, Medical Director of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, and Director of Clinical and Translational Medicine at the University of Navarra. He has participated in more than 160 papers as an author or corresponding author at national and international conferences. He also contributed to 120 chapters, monographs, and more than 670 articles in international and 141 national journals. Dr. San-Miguel’s honors include the Gregorio Marañón National Award in the field of Medicine, the Recognized with the Academy Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award, and the Michaeli Award for his contribution to the knowledge of Myeloma. He focuses on myeloma cell biology, minimal residual disease, proteasome inhibitors, immunomodulatory drugs, and histone deacetylases.

Gautam Sethi
Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore

Professor Gautam Sethi is an Associate Editor of JCMT. After completion of his postdoctoral training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Gautam Sethi joined the Department of Pharmacology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2008, as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2015. Over the past few years, he has concentrated on elucidating the mechanism (s) of activation of oncogenic transcription factors, such as NF-kB/STAT3 by carcinogens and inflammatory agents, and the identification of novel inhibitors of these proteins for prevention and therapy for cancer. The findings of his research work have so far resulted in more than two hundred scientific publications in high impact factor peer-reviewed journals (with an h-index of 96) and several international awards.

Francesca Demichelis
Computational and Integrative Biology (CIBIO), University of Trento, Trento, Italy

Professor Francesca Demichelis is an Editorial Board Member of JCMT, She is exploiting the study of cancer genomics, concentrating on prostate cancer as a complex cancer model with extensive heterogeneity and long periods of disease progression from time of diagnosis to development of lethal disease. Her research interest focuses on the characterization of tumor evolution and progression, mainly in the setting of GU cancers. Through the integration of computational and analytical approaches and in vitro studies. Her laboratory works on the characterization of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers. Ongoing work includes i) the study of genomic and DNA methylation intra-and inter-tumor heterogeneity from patients’ tissue biopsies and plasma circulating material to inform on tumor dynamics and treatment response and ii) the study of synthetic lethal combinations originally nominated through allele-specific analyses on multi-layer human data. Her research group is/has been involved in consortia studies, including MAQC-II, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA-PRAD), and Stand Up 2 Cancer International-PCF Dream Team.

Congratulations to our members!
