The 12th International Mesostructured Materials Symposium (IMMS) took place from July 8 to 12, 2024, in Montpellier, a picturesque seaside city in southern France. During this prestigious event, Prof. Bao-Lian Su, Editor-in-Chief of Chemical Synthesis (CS, ISSN: 2769-5247), was re-elected as the President of the International Mesostructured Materials Association (IMMA). This esteemed honor not only recognizes Prof. Su's outstanding contributions and leadership in the academic field but also highlights his significant impact on the development of the International Society and his profound influence in related disciplines. We are immensely proud of Prof. Su's re-election.

Additionally, due to the significant influence of the IMMS, several countries vied for the right to host the 13th IMMS. Ultimately, Inner Mongolia University in China was selected as the host for the next symposium. We eagerly anticipate new challenges and successes with Prof. Su in Inner Mongolia, China.

About Prof. Bao-Lian Su

Bao-Lian Su, Member of the European Academy of Sciences, Member of the Royal Academy of Belgium, Honorary Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Society, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK and Life Member of Clare Hall College, University of Cambridge. He is currently a professor at the University of Namur and the Wuhan University of Technology. His research focuses on the synthesis, property studies, and molecular engineering of hierarchically porous and bio-inspired materials for artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, energy conversion and storage, biotechnology, cell therapy and biomedical applications.

About 12th International Mesostructured Materials Symposium

The IMMS concentrates on materials where mesoscale architecture (2-50 nm) plays a dominant role in controlling their properties. While the conference has historically addressed mesoporous materials, this year’s event embraced all aspects of science and engineering research where nanoscale architecture is pivotal in controlling function or properties. Relevant topics include materials synthesis, materials characterization, and applications of mesostructured materials, such as catalysis, separations, drug delivery, and a broad range of energy harvesting and storage.

Once again, the CS Editorial Office extends heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Bao-lian Su!
