Professor Yuen Wu

Professor Yuen Wu has made significant contributions to the field of single-atom catalysis, establishing a comprehensive research framework encompassing 'precise creation-dynamic analysis-application transformation'. His recent research has focused on developing synthesis methodologies for metal single-atom and cluster catalysts, with applications in small molecule activation reactions related to fuel cells.

Over the past five years, Professor Wu has published dozens of academic papers in top-tier journals such as Nat. Cat., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Edit., etc. His work has amassed over 6000 SCI citations, with an h-index of 75.

To address challenges in single-atom active sites, such as easy migration and agglomeration and difficult precise control of coordination structure, Professor Wu pioneered a ' top-down ' in-situ pyrolysis synthesis strategy. This breakthrough overcame limitations in traditional single-atom catalyst preparation methods, enabling the production of high-loading single-atom catalysts. His innovative techniques, such as 'chemical vapor stripping deposition', have enabled large-scale and continuous production of these catalysts. Professor Wu has collaborated with leading enterprises to establish standardized processes from gram-level to ton-level production. His contributions have facilitated the widespread application of single-atom catalysts in industries such as new energy, environmental protection, agriculture and other fields, advancing the commercialization of catalytic technology and promoting the 'atomic economy' in the catalytic industry.
