The Best Presentation Awards of Connected Health Webinars were Announced

The Editorial Office of Connected Health (CH) hosted twin webinars on September 9 and September 16, 2022, to discuss digital health and telemedicine application and technology solutions for specific diseases or conditions at the time of COVID-19.

For the two webinars, the Editorial Office of CH set up the "Best Presentation Awards" to encourage the participating speakers to provide high-quality and valuable presentations. At the end of the two webinars, all attendees voted for the "Best Presentations", which the chairmen announced on the spot. The certificates were sent to the winners after the meeting.

Here, on behalf of the three chairmen, Prof. Stefano Omboni, Dr. Alexandru Nicolae Mischie and Dr. Anastasia Susie Mihailidou, the Editorial Office of CH would like to announce the winners of the awards.

Congratulations to Dr. Shabbir Syed-Abdul for winning the "Best Presentation Award" for the webinar "The Role of digital Health and telemedicine during COVID-19: Technical Solutions" held on September 9th. Dr. Syed-abdul's presentation was "Smart Wearables: One-fits-all Solution for Health Monitoring?" .

Dr. Shabbir Syed-Abdul is a strong health informatics research professional with expertise in Artificial intelligence and Digital healthcare. His research focus is on long term care of older adults and early prediction and management of chronic diseases such as cancer, chronic kidney disease, etc. He is a Professor at the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Informatics, a leading researcher and a principal investigator at the International Center for Health Information Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr Shabbir has an excellent track record of accomplishing projects and publishing over 110 articles in the SCI prestigious journals.

Congratulations to Dr. Shariful Islam for winning the "Best Presentation Award" for the webinar "The Role of Digital Health and Telemedicine at the Time of COVID-19: Applications for the Management of Specific Diseases or Conditions" held on September 16. Dr. Islam’s presentation was "Digital Health in the Management of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases".



Dr. Shariful Islam, Senior Research Fellow at Deakin University. He leads the National Heart Foundation projects and focusing on digital health for improving cardio-metabolic health. Dr. Shariful is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, a Member IT Committee of the Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand, Emerging Leader of World Heart Federation. Dr. Islam has published over 100 articles, with total citations of over 50,000 times.
