Bio
Giampiero Francica is the Chief of the Diagnostic and Interventional Unit of Pineta Grande Hospital, Castel Volturno, Italy. He has graduated in Medicine at University of Naples Medical School in 1982 and taken a postgraduate specialization course in Gastroenterology in 1986. Over the last 40 years his professional and research field was devoted to diagnostic and interventional ultrasound with special regard to Ultrasound guided procedures such as biopsy and ablation of liver tumors. Recently, he has focused its research activity on Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound applications in diagnosis and interventional Ultrasound in the liver receiving prizes from the Italian Society of Ultrasound and the European Society of Ultrasound.
