Prof. Taicheng An received his PhD from SUN YAT-SEN UNIVERSITY in 2002. He is currently a Distinguished Professor as well as Founding Director of the Institute of Environmental Health and Pollution Control, Guangdong University of Technology, China. Now, he also served as Associate Editor of Appl. Catal. B: Environ. and Ctr. Rev. Env. Sci. Tech. Prof. Taicheng An received a large number of honors and awards such as the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in China, Distinguished Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars of MOE as well as the Pearl River Scholars Program of Guangdong Province, and the Young Scientist Winner of Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment (SCOPE). He was also selected as the most cited Chinese author in Environmental Sciences by Elsevier’s Scopus from 2014 to 2020 for continuous seven years. Prof. Taicheng An made an outstanding contribution to Environmental Geochemistry and Health, in particular to contaminants exposure and health of various pollutants in environments. His work in the field of Environmental Geochemistry is world-widely recognized. His research activities cover: (1) Human metabolism mechanism and health risk assessment of emerging contaminants; (2) Environmental transportation mechanisms, fate prediction, and pollution control mechanism of emerging contaminants; (3) Synthesis, characterization, optimization, and application of nanostructured catalysts and natural mineral materials in environmental remediation; (4) Applications mechanism of advanced oxidation processes, especially Heterogeneous Environmental Catalysis in organics degradation and biohazard inactivation in water. He has published more than 350 scientific papers in high impact journals such as Nature Comm, PNAS, JACS, ES&T, WR, etc .
