Bio
Dr. Junjie Zhang received his PhD at Nankai University with Prof. Lei Wang and conducted postdoctoral research at Norwegian University of Science and Technology with Prof. Alexandros Asimakopoulos and Prof. Veerle Jasper. As a joint-PhD student, he studied with Prof. Kurunthachalam Kannan one year at the Wadworth Center in New York state.
Dr. Zhang’s main research interests are environmental and biological monitoring of emerging organic pollutants. He was the first to use LC-MS/MS to analyze microplastics and was selected as one of the best papers of 2017 in Environmental Science & Technology Letters. He was also the first to report on microplastics in infant feces and was selected as the cover paper of Environmental Science & Technology letter, attracting worldwide attention. He has published 16 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals such as Environmental Science & Technology, Environmental Science & Technology Letters, Environment International, etc.
