Special Interview with Prof. Lee L. Q. Pu

On April 8, 2025, the Editorial Office of Plastic and Aesthetic Research (PAR) had the honor of interviewing Prof. Lee L. Q. Pu, a distinguished Editorial Board member of PAR and the Editor-in-Chief of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (APS).

About Prof. Lee L. Q. Pu

Prof. Pu, MD, FACS, FICS, is an Emeritus Professor of Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the International College of Surgeons (FICS), the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS), and the American Surgical Association (ASA). He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (APS) and sits on the Editorial Board of PAR.

With over two decades of experience and more than 18,500 surgical procedures performed, Prof. Pu is renowned for his exceptional safety record and outstanding outcomes in both reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. His groundbreaking techniques have garnered international attention, including being featured on ABC’s 20/20 program.

Prof. Pu has been profiled in professional newsletters nine times and has received several prestigious awards in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of plastic surgery. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles and contributed to 110 book chapters, highlighting his innovations, discoveries, and unique surgical approaches. As a leading editor, he authored the first comprehensive textbook on plastic surgery, Reconstructive Surgery of the Lower Extremity, and the first-ever textbook on aesthetic plastic surgery in Asians, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Asians: Principles and Techniques.

1.You have made significant contributions to fat grafting. How do you view the future applications of fat grafting in facial rejuvenation, breast surgery, and other aesthetic procedures?
