The Editorial Office of Hepatoma Research was honored and excited to have a special interview with Prof. Georgios Germanidis from the First Department of Internal Medicine at AHEPA University Hospital, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, on June 7, 2024. In the interview, Prof. Germanidis highlighted the main findings and the significance of his team’s newly published article titled "Shedding light on the role of LAG-3 in hepatocellular carcinoma: unraveling immunomodulatory pathways". Additionally, he outlined further research on HCC treatments and shared insights from his professional experience in this field. Prof. Georgios Germanidis is a Full professor of gastroenterology and serves as the Head of the Hepatology and Gastroenterology Unit of the First Department of Internal Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He leads a lab and focuses on liver biology, liver immunology, HBV, HCV clinical liver diseases, HCC, etc.
