Derek O’Reilly

Biography:
Dr. O’Reilly received his medical degree from Trinity College Dublin in 1992, and was later awarded a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom. In 2006, he received his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in General Surgery. Dr. O’ Reilly completed his residency in the United Kingdom in General Surgery, where he rotated through inpatient and outpatient wards and developed expertise in managing conditions ranging from liver, pancreatic, gallbladder and other digestive diseases to the treatment of abdominal wall hernias.
Before joining UFH facility, Dr. O’ Reilly served in the University of Manchester as a Professor of Surgery, and as an expert in the production of clinical guidelines for the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
Dr. O’Reilly has over 30 years of clinical experience. In addition to specializing in the treatment and diagnosis of general surgical, he also completed a fellowship in liver and pancreatic diseases. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. O’Reilly has published over 90 papers in prominent peer-reviewed medical journals.

Glenn Kunnath Bonney

Biography:
Assoc Prof Glenn Kunnath Bonney is the Director of Research, Department of Surgery at National University Hospital and the Director & Principal Investigator of SurgiCAL ProtEomics Laboratory (SCALPEL), iHealthtech,, National University of Singapore.
He has numerous publications, presentations and invited lectures in liver transplantation, hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal liver metastasis and pancreas cancer.
His primary interest is in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic) for primary and secondary malignancies of the liver, pancreas and gallbladder, donor/recipient matching for liver transplantation and extending donor criteria.

Thomas M Drake

Biography:
Dr. Drake is currently a Surgical Trainee in the South East of Scotland. He is a research fellow within the Usher Institute Centre for Medical Informatics and clinical lecturer at the Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute. His principal research interest is focused around improving outcomes and experiences for patients who need surgery and have cancer. To do this, he uses large-datasets to look at how cancer can be detected at an early stage and in identifying how specific mutations contribute to cancer growth and therapy resistance.

Dr. Laura Alaimo is a general surgeon and PhD student in surgical and cardiovascular sciences currently affiliated with the Unit of General and Hepatobiliary Surgery at the University Hospital of Verona, Italy. She trained and completed her residency in General Surgery at the University Hospital of Verona, accumulating extensive experience in hepatobiliary surgery. In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Alaimo worked as a research scholar in Columbus at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center, from April 2022 to March 2023, under the mentorship of Professor Timothy M. Pawlik. Her research is focused on surgical and oncological outcomes of hepatobiliary surgery for malignancies, and the application of machine learning in clinical research.

He holds Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, Hong Kong College of Community Medicine, Australasian College of Health Service Management and Hong Kong College of Health Service Executives. Dr Mah continues to be an Assessor for the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards, and serves as an Advisor to Our Hong Kong Foundation and is a member of the RACMA Clinical Governance Advisory Group. He is a Tsinghua University’s Schwarzman Scholars Industry Mentor.
