Special Issue Introduction
Due to the recent subdivision of disciplines, panvascular diseases represented by coronary artery disease, ischaemic stroke, and peripheral artery disease are included in different disciplines and managed separately. However, different disciplines may focus on local lesions while ignoring systemic vascular changes, resulting in fragmentation and differentiation in diagnosis and treatment. Panvascular disease is based on theoretical foundation of systems biology, exploring the commonality and individuality of important organs, such as cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and peripheral vascular systems. Aging promotes the development of panvascular diseases and is one of the major factors contributing to the increase in global mortality. This issue focuses on the mechanisms of panvascular aging-related diseases and its translational research, paying attention to their latest research progress and future development trends. It aims to achieve common treatment for major panvascular aging-related diseases, such as coronary artery disease, ischemic stroke, and peripheral artery disease, thus extending the lifespan and promoting a healthspan of the population.
Recommended topics for the special issue include:
1. How to reasonably measure the degree of panvascular aging;
2. Establishment of novel panvascular aging biomarkers and research systems;
3. The application of multimodal imaging technology in panvascular aging-related diseases;
4. Common mechanisms of major diseases related to panvascular aging;
5. How genetic, dietary, and natural environmental factors influence the progression of panvascular aging-related disease;
6. How do gender differences participate in and contribute to the panvascular aging process;
7. Mechanistic and translational studies of diseases related to panvascular aging (coronary artery disease, ischemic stroke, peripheral artery disease, etc.);
8. How to utilize health promotion concepts to prevent and control panvascular aging-related diseases;
9. Research on the prevention and control of panvascular aging-related diseases by proactive healthcare technologies;
10. The role of big data, artificial intelligence and big models in the management of panvascular aging-related diseases;
