Special Issue Introduction

Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) remains one of the most challenging hematological malignancies, characterized by its complex genetic landscape and diverse metabolic adaptations. Recent advances in genomic technologies and metabolic profiling have provided unprecedented insights into the pathogenesis of AML, paving the way for novel therapeutic interventions. This seeks to compile cutting-edge research that enhances our understanding of the genomic alterations and metabolic reprogramming associated with AML.

We invite original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and insightful case studies that delve into the following subtopics:

Subtopics:
1. Genomic Alterations in AML: Investigate specific mutations, chromosomal abnormalities, and their impact on disease progression and patient outcomes.
2. Metabolic Reprogramming in Leukemia Cells: Explore how leukemia cells adapt their metabolic pathways to support proliferation and survival in the harsh tumor microenvironment.
3. Epigenetic Modifications and Their Implications: Discuss the role of epigenetic changes in AML and their potential as therapeutic targets.
4. Novel Therapeutic Targets and Strategies: Highlight recent discoveries in targeting genomic and metabolic vulnerabilities in AML cells.
5. Biomarker Discovery and Validation: Present findings on biomarkers that can predict treatment response and disease prognosis.
6. Resistance Mechanisms to Current Therapies: Examine the intrinsic and acquired resistance mechanisms that challenge current treatment regimens in AML.
7. Integration of Multi-Omics Data: Discuss approaches that integrate genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic data to provide a holistic view of AML biology.
8. Personalized Medicine Approaches: Explore the potential of precision medicine in AML treatment, focusing on tailoring therapies based on individual genomic and metabolic profiles.
