Special Issue Introduction

Sepsis, a life-threatening condition resulting from an intense response to infection, can lead to severe organ failure and death. With diverse clinical phenotypes, recent research underscores the influence of genetics on susceptibility, disease progression, and treatment response. These insights offer promising avenues for personalized therapies in sepsis care.

This Special Issue invites research articles, reviews, and clinical studies on:

●  Genetic markers associated with different sepsis phenotypes;

●  How genotypes affect sepsis manifestations;

●  Emerging genotype-based therapeutic strategies;

●  Ethical and clinical implications of genetic data in sepsis management.

By integrating genetics and clinical insights, this issue aims to advance personalized approaches and deepen our understanding of the genotype-phenotype relationship in sepsis.

Keywords

Sepsis, genetic marker, clinical phenotypes, genotype-phenotype relationship
