Special Issue Introduction
Digital twins (DTs) have emerged as a transformative technology with profound implications for various domains, notably cyber security. Originating from the Internet of Things (IoT), the strategic integration of DTs has become a crucial theme in the realm of cybersecurity. In today's interconnected digital landscape, where the cyber threat landscape evolves rapidly, the effective utilization of DTs presents new opportunities and challenges.
This Special Issue delves into the profound implications of DTs within the dynamic landscape of international cybersecurity, exploring their significance and transformative potential. DTs, virtual representations synchronized with real-time data, offer a unique perspective on cybersecurity strategies. This edition aims to unravel the multifaceted contributions of DTs in fortifying defenses, optimizing incident response, and advancing the global discourse on cyber resilience.
Researchers and practitioners are encouraged to contribute their insights and expertise to explore the multifaceted aspects of DTs in the context of cyber security, emphasizing their role in enhancing resilience, threat detection, and incident response. Some key areas this Special Issue will cover include:
● DT Modeling for Cyber Threat Analysis;
● Simulation of Cyber Attacks using DTs;
● DTs in Incident Response and Recovery;
● Identity and Access Management with DTs;
● Blockchain and DTs for Secure Transactions;
● Cyber Threat Detection and Response Using DTs;
● Security Implications of DTs in Critical Infrastructure;
● Machine Learning, IoT, and AI for DT-based Cyber Security;
● Security Evaluation, Verification, and Ethical Considerations in DTs;
● Case Studies and Practical Implementations of DTs in Cyber Security.
Academics, research students, and professionals are invited to submit their original work. Extended conference papers are also welcome, provided they have been revised and contain at least 50% new content (Please submit the previously published proceedings paper with the revised research paper).
