Special Issue Introduction
As the demand for large-scale energy storage solutions grows, the need for environmentally benign and high-performance electrolytes and electrode materials becomes increasingly critical. This Special Issue will cover a wide range of topics, including novel electrolyte formulations, advanced electrode materials, and their integration into flow battery systems. We welcome original research articles, reviews, and perspectives that address the challenges and opportunities in enhancing the efficiency, stability, and environmental impact of flow batteries. Contributions focusing on the synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation of new materials and studies on the fundamental mechanisms underlying their operation are highly encouraged. By highlighting cutting-edge research in this field, this Special Issue aims to advance the development of next-generation flow batteries that are both efficient and environmentally sustainable.
