Special Issue Introduction
Frequent natural disasters seriously threaten human lives and property security, highlighting the growing importance of disaster reduction efforts. Emerging technologies, such as remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), big data, and artificial intelligence (AI), are increasingly important in disaster reduction. To delve deeper into the application of these technologies in mitigating disasters, we cordially invite you to contribute to this Special Issue. We aim to explore how cutting-edge technologies can promote innovation and development in disaster reduction efforts, thereby advancing the integration of technology with disaster risk reduction. The potential topics include but are not limited to:
● Application and challenges of new technologies in disaster early warning and monitoring;
● Big data-driven disaster risk assessment;
● AI technology in disaster risk reduction;
● Deployment of remote sensing and GIS in disaster investigation;
● Recent advances in multi-hazard disaster risk reduction technologies.
