Special Issue Introduction
Reliability Assessment and Risk Management, an interdisciplinary domain related to probability mechanics and engineering disciplines, have been consistently applied in recent decades to confront reliability and risk challenges in various areas such as engineering structures, offshore operations, and marine fields. Engineering structures are prone to long-term environmental effects due to exposure to environmental conditions and natural hazards. The evaluation of the reliability and risk of engineering structures exposed to natural hazards has emerged as a global priority. In particular, reliability assessment and risk management, considering uncertainties for such structures and natural hazards, have proven pivotal in addressing these challenges. This Special Issue aims to provide a forum for researchers to present state-of-the-art research findings and future trends in risk and reliability for engineering structures under long-term environmental effects.
The principal topics to be explored include, but are not limited to:
(1) Reliability assessment methods and risk management strategies;
(2) Hazard modeling and random vibrations;
(3) Reliability-based performance evaluation;
(4) Intelligent risk assessment under uncertainties.
