Recruitment of New Editor-in-Chief

The Journal of Cardiovascular Aging (JCA, ISSN: 2768-5993) invites applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief for the journal. Prof. Dr. Ali J. Marian will step down from this role in October, 2024. JCA is conducting a global search for his successor, who will serve a 4-year term, anticipated to start in November 2024.

JCA, founded by OAE Publishing Inc., is an internationally peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal. Our mission is to establish JCA as a premier and transparent global platform for publishing cutting-edge basic, translational, and clinical studies on the cardiovascular implications of aging.

Since its launch in 2021, JCA has gained recognition by being indexed in significant databases such as Scopus, CAS, Dimensions, Lens, and CNKI. Notably, JCA attained its first CiteScore of 2.4 in June 2024, with the real-time CiteScore Tracker in Scopus currently standing at 2.6.

Qualifications:

2. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities to guide the Editorial Board, foster collaboration among researchers, and drive the journal’s strategic development.

3. Communication Abilities: Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with authors, reviewers, and the broader scientific community.

4. Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the journal’s editorial policies and practices.

5. Professional Integrity: Exemplary professional ethics and integrity in all editorial decisions and interactions.

6. Collaborative Spirit: Ability to collaborate with stakeholders including authors, reviewers, Editorial Board members, and publishers to enhance the journal’s impact and visibility.

Candidates should embody these qualifications to effectively lead the journal as Editor-in-Chief and contribute to its continued success in advancing knowledge and research in cardiovascular aging.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide a strong editorial vision representative of the goals of the journal.

2. Develop strategies with the Publisher to obtain high-quality content.

3. Promote the journal at professional meetings, workshops, and other appropriate forums.

4. Select and lead an esteemed international Editorial Board whose knowledge base represents the topics covered in the editorial mission of the journal.

5. Ensure proper manuscript flow to guarantee on-time publication, soliciting content and/or editorials as appropriate.

6. Select and manage high-performing peer reviewers and Editorial Board members as needed.

7. Make decisions on submitted manuscripts.

Selection and Application:

We kindly request the Editor-in-Chief to commit to a 4-year term, commencing November 1, 2024. Candidates will be selected jointly by the current Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Ali J. Marian, and the editorial team.
