The Energy Materials (EM) Editorial Office is excited to announce that EM has been officially accepted for inclusion in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI, Web of Science) on August 3, 2023. The journal will receive its first impact factor in June 2024, marking a major milestone. All EM papers from Volume 1, Issue 1, onwards will be comprehensively indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection, which means that the visibility and impact of this journal and its published papers will be set to increase.

The Editorial Office would like to express sincere gratitude to all the Editorial Board members, authors, reviewers, and readers who have provided considerable support and contributions to EM throughout the years. Moving forward, the Editorial Office will continue to strengthen connections with relevant research institutes and academic organizations, both domestically and internationally. Leveraging the expertise of accomplished scholars in journal management, the Office aims to improve journal quality, seeking breakthroughs and innovations across disciplinary positioning, editing and publishing, manuscript organizing, and dissemination.

Once again, congratulations on this remarkable accomplishment!

About ESCI:
ESCI was introduced by Thomson Reuters in late 2015 as a new database in Web of Science. At its launch, it included approximately 3,000 periodicals spanning a wide range of subjects. The index has been managed by Clarivate Analytics since 2017. The Emerging Sources Citation Index aims to extend the scope of publications within the Web of Science to include high-quality, peer-reviewed publications. To qualify for coverage, journals must meet the following criteria:

  • Peer-reviewed
  • Adheres to ethical publishing practices
  • Meets technical requirements
  • Includes English language bibliographic information
  • Recommended or requested by the scholarly audience using Web of Science

ESCI enhances the visibility of significant research within the Web of Science Core Collection. Therefore, inclusion in ESCI not only elevates the visibility of a journal but also serves as a hallmark of its quality, offering notable benefits to authors.
