The First Editorial Board Meeting of the Journal Artificial Intelligence Surgery Successfully Held
The First Editorial Board meeting of the journal Artificial Intelligence Surgery (AIS) was successfully held on March 10, 2021. Twenty-four Editorial Board members participated in the meeting, including Prof. Andrew A. Gumbs, Editor-in-Chief (Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal de Poissy/Saint-Germain-en-Laye Poissy, France); Prof. Brice Gayet, past president of the Paris Hospitals College of Medicine, and president of the French Society of Endoscopic Surgery; Prof. Mohammed Abu Hilal (Department of Surgery, Fondazione Poliambulanza, Brescia, Italy); Prof. Chinnusamy Palanivelu, founding president of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India; Prof. Micaela Piccoli (Department of General, Emergency Surgery and New Technologies, Baggiovara General Hospital, Modena, Italy).
Before the meeting, the Editor-in-Chief Prof. Gumbs told us, "It's hard to guarantee the attendance of the Editorial Board meeting because every surgeon will be called away at any time, including me". We were so touched and impressed by these words.
Here, we are extremely grateful to Prof. Gumbs for his dedicated contributions to the establishment of the journal during the past three months. At the same time, the Editorial Office of the journal of AIS would like to thank all Editorial Board members for taking time out of their busy schedule to attend this meeting and contributing their creativity and ideas to the journal. Each member of the Editorial Board shows a strong respect and love for their profession and is always passionate about their work.
We are fully confident that all surgeons and researchers will find this journal a refreshing reading experience, and we would greatly and sincerely appreciate it if we can get any support and precious advice from more surgeons, researchers and all the readers!
Respectfully submitted by the Editorial Office of AIS.
